For once the planets aligned, number one daughter home to look after our Mollie (dog) dry weather and Ian Ness organiser never ever fails to come up with anything other than a brilliant ride out, I arrived 10:00 Ian,Frank,Roband Tom already at Gregg’s Easkbank Ian gave 2 potential new members a good twenty minutes after the set off time but they didn’t show up…The route down through the Borders took in some very interesting wee roads with stunning views as we headed for the Union Bridge which has been beautifully restored and well worth taking time to look at it properly and very close by the The Honey Farm Cafe a very interesting and quirky place the cafe is an old double decker bus 5 lovely friendly staff members serving sandwiches cakes and scones, I don’t remember public transport smelling that nice,, then more of the Borders fine sweeping flowing roads that took in a couple of the Challenge Sites and a coffee stop at the ever busy Waterwheel Selkirk from there I said my goodbyes to the fine company and banter thanks Ian for a grand day oot…

What a lovely surprise, I didn’t think there was going to be any report as I didn’t ask anyone. Many thanks Dave for using your initiative and writing one for us all to enjoy.
A couple of firsts for me, The Union Chain Bridge and The Honey Farm. I’d noticed them on a YouTube channel that I follow and thought they would be brilliant for a club run. I wasn’t disappointed, both absolutely brilliant.
I hope all who attended enjoyed the day.
Cheers
Ian
I love these runs where I don’t have a clue where I am. Thanks to Ian for leading and David for writing up.
