North Berwick Run

Run date 11.05.23 Marc Elvin

The weather was amazing all day and when I turned up at the straring point, it was a beautiful evening, sun out, a wee breeze and all was good in life. Ed arrived shortly after and after a chat about how crap my CCM test ride was, Brian arrived, this time on his Pan, so hopefully no push starting bikes tonight. A quick check of the website showed we were the only three attending tonight, so after a quick briefing we set off.
We made out way through Dalkeith and as we sat at a set of lights Brian pulled up along side and mnetioned he will need fuel. So, we almost went a mile and then stopped for fuel. Off we set again, through some back roads of East Lothian, through Gifford and onto NB Distillery. As we headed along the back roads, aside from stunning scenery, we saw what we thought was a massive rain cloud roll in over the coast, but alas in was just good old Scottish haar, proper pea soup.

Arrived at NB bearly being able to see 50 feet in front of ourselves. 5 minutes later we arrive at the chippy. After a discussion, the decision is made to “sit-in”, potentially controversial, but all good. Fish and chip order and eaten, not bad, but not as good as Longniddry, we set back home, along the coat, through the mist, almost seeing the sea. As we get back to the Burgh, we head off in our general directions. Some nice roads, really mixed weather, good company and ok fish’n’chips. On to the next one.
