About Peter

Currently I hold the Chairmans position, this is third committee position I have held.

I started biking back in 1994, as an alternative to commuting to work in a car. All year round, all weathers, including snow in the early days!. It was only when my kids were older did I get the itch about riding further afield.

Currently I have a BMW R1250RT (2025) and a Vectrix VX-1 (electric scooter, 2008 (with over 59k miles on the clock)).

The thing I like most about the SMC is the adventure. Meeting all the different people, looking over the bikes, all the different roads and destinations that we explore as a group. Every time we meet is different, is very enjoyable.

About Ken
I passed my bike test in Feb 1977, on a Yamaha RD200, which was followed by a Suzuki GT500A, a Honda CX500, then a Yamaha XS750. A change in priorities around 1980 (Shift work, marriage, kids, Scottish winters etc) meant a transition to four wheels, so the bike had to go. Running a car AND a bike was financially impossible back then.

Following a long stint of living and working in the Middle East, I finally managed to return to biking in 2000, with a Honda CB600F and joined the SMC shortly thereafter.

I persevered with the Honda for a couple or three years, until my wife, Fiona, started to join me as a pillion regularly, at which time I moved to a BMW R1100RS. This served us well on many a club run, and our first biking trip to France. In 2010 I swapped out the RS for a low mileage R1200RT. We had many great trips on that RT between 2010 and 2015, including Ireland, Italy, Wales, and all the club challenges.

In 2015 I bought my current bike, a BMW R1200RT LC, which was only my second brand new bike (CX500 in 1978 was my first), and we have had this one as far into Europe as Croatia, and as far North to the Arctic circle in Norway, with many other interesting destinations in between. I occasionally toy with the idea of changing the RT for something else but simply taking it out for a wee run always changes that notion. I just like it too much.

I have in the past been a committee member, and Chairman, for the club but had to give up these roles about ten years ago when my job at the time started to entail a lot of travel and time away from home. However, now that such distractions are well behind me now, I have taken on the role as Membership Secretary..

About Antonios
I joined the Scottish Motorcycle Club shortly after getting my full motorcycle licence in Scotland near the end of 2022, and I’m really pleased to now be a member of the committee.

I originally come from Greece and moved to Scotland in 2017. My first experience on two wheels was back in 1998 when I was 18 riding a 100cc Honda Astrea Grand, although it only lasted for a short time. After that, life moved on and biking took a back seat for quite a while.

A few years after I had settled in Scotland, I decided it was finally time to get back onto two wheels. I completed my full licence near the end of 2022 and joined the club shortly afterwards. A couple of months later (in 2023), I bought a Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT which I managed to take on a road trip to Greece in the summer of 2024, and I still enjoy riding it today. Last year (in 2025), I also bought a Honda CBF 1000 in Greece, which I now keep there for when I visit.

What I like most about the club is the friendly atmosphere and the chance to meet people who share the same interest in motorcycling. Every run is different and the Annual Challenge is a great excuse to push myself a bit further and explore parts of Scotland I wouldn’t normally visit.

About Ewan
After being away from motorbikes for over 35 years I passed my bike test in late 2020. I immediately bought my excellent Kawasaki Vulcan S. I rode solo most of the time and was looking to join a group on days out and found the SMC in Summer 2021. After a couple of years enjoying club runs, bagging challenge sites and loving all the “proper” big bikes the other members had, I bought a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro which I love nearly as much as my Vulcan.

Originally from Aberdeen, I moved to Larbert in 2012 and have loved the central location for club runs and solo adventures. I also own a motorhome and do a bit of mountain-biking to keep me fit. My other passion is music. I go to many gigs and have a bit of a vinyl addiction…but that’s another story.

The club has a great mix of members who are like-minded, friendly and helpful. I particularly like the relaxed riding ethos during club runs and the variety of those runs, everything from evening chippy runs to epic multi day tours.

I’m just about to retire and wanted to help more with the running of the club so here I am on the committee.

About Norman
I got my first bike at the ripe old age of 17, a Honda H100N a wee 2-stroke. I passed my bike test in Feb 1982 and quickly moved on to Yamaha RD350 YPVS, another stroker! Then a Kawasaki GPZ900R which I kept for a few years before moving down to Englandshire for work and unfortunately the bike had to go.

On returning to Scotland in 1993 my brother was trying sell his bike. It was a sign from the biking gods and quickly got back into biking on a Yamaha Diversion 600 it was quickly followed by a Kawasaki ZX-6R 636.

Due to personal circumstances, there was a huge gap in my biking history, returning to biking in 2022 with BMW R1250 GSA and a couple years later on to my current bike The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally.

After a recommendation from a friend, I joined the club in 2023 and it’s been a fantastic experience, meeting like-minded people, making new friends and enjoying the club runs. I decided to join the committee in a small role to dip my toes in the water so to speak. Who knows where we go from here….

About Kenny
I passed my motorcycle test in 1975 after doing a RAC training course. My first bike was a Yamaha RD200, followed by a Suzuki GT500A, another 2-stroke, which I loved. I then had a huge break in biking from 1980 to 2004.

My youngest brother started biking in 2000 (age 37!!) and after having a shot of his Kawasaki Z750, my back-to-biking seed was sown. A few years later, as my children discovered their independence, my wife Ali and I did an organised biking trip in India. Fortunately, I did a sensible motorbike refresher course first, then bought a Yamaha Fazer 600, which enabled several months of important road miles before the big trip.

A Suzuki GSX R600, a Triumph Tiger 1050 and seven years later, Ali and I were made redundant and decided to take early retirement. I found that my biking buddies from work moved to pastures new, leaving me at a bit of a loose end. I became a SMC member in August 2012….a great decision!

After another Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport then a couple of years on a Ducati 950s Multistrada. I’m now back with Triumph – a lovely Tiger 900GT Pro. In every way, coming back to biking has been a fantastically rewarding decision.

About Dave
I’ve been riding bikes for over 25 years and joined the club in January 2025; I took on the role of Web Administrator in March 2026.

I currently ride a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro and a Triumph Thruxton 1200R, both great bikes and scratch a different itch, depending on the mood and the weather!

When I’m not on the bike, I’m playing guitar or piano and love spending time walking our two Cocker Spaniels with my wife.
