DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Greggs Drive through\, off the A7\, next to Eskbank Roundabout for departure at 6pm \nWe shall head South on the A7 initially\, until we hand a left onto the B6368. Up over the hill and ending up at the foot of Soutra on the A68. A quick left then right to head towards Humbie. Swap roads and through East then West Saltoun and Pencaitland and finally arrive at Super Fry Takeaway in Longniddry. \nAfter food\, we shall make our won way home. \nRun is open to all. Route here. DESCRIPTION:UPDATE – Due to the indicated attendance the number of Tee Times booked has been reduced to one.\n1 Tee Time has been booked (12:00)\, max. of 4. \nFollowing on from last year’s successful golf event @ Stirling GC\, here is the details of this year’s event. \nSaturday 11th May 2024 @ Pumpherston Golf Club \n2 Tee Times have been booked (12:00 & 12:07)\, max. of 4 per slot. \nPlease arrive at least 15 mins before the start time\, and allow about 4 hours for the full 18 holes. \nCost will be appox. £32 per person (I’m a member\, so may get a greater discount depending on numbers) \nThis is not a competitive event (yea right!)\, just a leisurely round of golf with friends. \nLast years participants had a wide range of abilities\, ranging up to approx. a 25 handicap. \nNo official handicap is required to play on the day\, and the usual golf course dress code applies. \nhttps://www.pumpherstongolfclub.co.uk/ \nHost will be Peter Johnson

SUMMARY:Mon-u-mental Run - Sunday 12.05.24
DESCRIPTION:Fife and NE Scotland in one day…Ewan’s first run as leader and it looks awesome. \nMeeting at Bowtrees BP filling station at 08:45 for a 09:00start. \nThis is a full day run starting on the south of the Clackmannanshire Bridge and heading north as far a Laurencekirk and back via some lovely east coast roads\, taking in 4 of the 25 challenge sites on the way. \nHeading over the Clackmannanshire Bridge towards Perth on the A977\, A91\, B934 and B9112.  On through Perth\, crossing the River Tay to head north through Coupar Angus and on towards Kirriemuir on the A94 and A926.  Turning left onto the B955 heading to Cortachy and onto the Scott Wilson Memorial.  Heading out to Johnshaven on the B955 and B966 where we will stop for lunch.  Bring your own sandwiches or get a cake from the Hidden Treasure Cafe…your choice. \nBack on the bikes\, south towards Montrose on the A92\, onto the Bamse Memorial Statue and a fuel stop at the Shell in Montrose.  Staying on the A92\, through Dundee\, and over the Tay Bridge to the Jim Clark Statue.  Staying on the A92 towards Glenrothes and onto the A911\, B9097 and then south on the B996 towards Kelty\, taking the B917 to Hill of Beath and the Jim Baxter Statue.  Finally\, heading towards Dunfermline on the A907 and Cairneyhill on the A994 we head to the Kincardine bridge on the A985 and onto the finish at Bowtrees BP filling station. \nRide Breakdown:\n\nSTART    : bp\, A905 Haughs Of\, Airth\, Falkirk FK2 8PF\nFUEL     : Shell\, Union St\, Coupar Angus\, Blairgowrie PH13 9AF [@ 60 miles]\nMEMORIAL : Scott Wilson Memorial (X) [@ 80 miles]\nLUNCH    : Johnshaven (Hidden Treasure Cafe) [@ 114 miles]\nMEMORIAL : Bamse Memorial (Y) [@ 123 miles]\nFUEL     : Shell\, Bridge St\, Montrose DD10 8AJ [@ 124 miles]\nMEMORIAL : Jim Clark Statue (N) [@ 160 miles]\nMEMORIAL : Jim Baxter Statue (M) [@ 192 miles]\nEND      : bp\, A905 Haughs Of\, Airth\, Falkirk FK2 8PF [@ mile 210]\nRun is open to all although some motorway sections. \nRiding time approximately 5:00h and covering 210 miles with another 2-3 hours at monuments\, fuel/coffee stops and lunch\, so expect to be back at Bowtrees around 5pm. \nRoute here \nRiding time approximately 5:00h and covering 210 miles with another 2-3 hours at monuments\, fuel/coffee stops and lunch\, so expect to be back at Bowtrees around 5pm. \nRun leader – Ewan Ritchie

SUMMARY:Callander Chippy Run – 16.05.24
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 16th May – 18:30 to 21:00 \nA short (probably the shortest) run for fish and chips to Callander. \nStart at Dobbies Garden Center Stirling at 18:30 for a 18:40 start. \nA fairly straight road along the A84 through Doune to Callendar. \nThere are a couple of establishments to choose from for food. \nAfter a bite to eat and a natter\, we will head towards Aberfoyle\, via the Trossachs and Dukes Pass. \nProvisional route here\, 28 miles (14 miles + 14 miles)\, less than 1 hour total riding time. \nFirst section is suitable for all. The second section\, Dukes Pass\, is a little technical\, but passable by all with care. \nRun leader will be Peter Johnson.

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to Ian McIntosh for stepping up to lead the first in the series of summer club runs. \nPut down your Sunday papers and get out on your bike for a wee jaunt around the Perthshire countryside. \nStarting at Dobbies Garden Centre\, Stirling\, at 10am for a 10:15 start\, we’ll head north toward Killin taking a short diversion to the burial site of Rob Roy at Balquidder. From the north shore of Loch Tay it’s over Glen Lyon and to our first coffee stop at The Glen Lyon POST Office tearoom. From there it’s on to Kinloch Rannoch\, passing the foot of Schiehallion\, then alongside Loch Tummel to our second stop at The Queen’s View Visitor Centre. \nThen it’s a very short stretch of the A9\, bypassing Pitlochry\, turning off toward Aberfeldy and on to our finish at The Crieff Visitor Centre. \nOpen to all. \nGoogle says 4hrs 30 riding time\, 140 miles.
